A community run, organic farm

Here at Knoydart Farm CIC, we want to create a landscape-based food system that successfully integrates production, regeneration, people and wider biodiversity, right here on Knoydart.

Vision, Mission and Values

No dig

We’re not going to use diesel or petrol machinery once we have the farm setup the way we want it. We’re going to build the soil up, not leave it uncovered, creating a biosystem that is alive with life.

Heritage and organic

Using varieities that we believe fit the climate here the best, we’ll never use chemical pesticides, fertilisers or herbicides, ensuring our produce is organically grown.

Positive environmental impact

We aim to provide food which has a positive effect on the environment. Adding biodiversity while producing tasty food.

We want to grow what the community wants and also want to educate and introduce new varieties and forgotten about produce that is tasty and nutritious.

How will it help

The benefits to Knoydart

There are a number of benefits to the local community here on Knoydart.

Locally produced, chemical-free, organic food in abundance

2. Jobs

Once we’re up and running and producing food, we believe the income will support a number of roles within the community.

3. Reduction in waste

Less produce having to come over on the ferry means less packaging and less waste having to make the return journey.

Stay In Contact

It's always cool to hear from folks. We have a limited number of volunteer opportunities, you can camp at the Knoydart Foundation campsite and come volunteer during your stay, or wild camp near to the Farm. If you want to have a blether, then we're happy for you to drop us a note as well.
